Have you noticed how Superman was sent to Earth from his own planet to save Mankind and then he performs miracles. He then 'dies' and is born again. Doesn't this sound a lot like the story of Jesus

In the movie, he is

Stabbed in side with Kryptonite - like Jesus stabbed with spear

Empty hospital room - empty tomb of Jesus

Falls to Earth, arms outstretched - Crucifixion-like

Cradled in mother's arms - like Michelangelo's Pieta

Superman says world needs saviour

Superman's five years in space echoes the Ascension

Shown with weight of world/sin on shoulders

Yes a lot of people have commented on this along the way. I am really not a fan of what Singer did with the Superman saga the original intent when superman was created was not to parallel Jesus's life it was to create harmless fiction.

sort of. but there are also those who believe the superman logo is "queer-like" cuz of its shape and that blue is a couple of shades away from purple making it REALLY gay. that's what I hear though

Oh sweet Lord!!!!! Will you people get a life already!!!! Please you are the same kind of people who said that Disney Movies were sending sexual images to children!!!! If you try hard enough, you could religious co notations in a Tarrantino film. Hell in Kill Bill Uma Thurman was"killed" and then came back to life!!!!! Do you see anyone comparing her to Jesus!!! NO!!!!
Nice observation, the truth is though that many Western entertainment her stries have strong echoes with Biblical imagery... Lord of the Rings... Gormenghast... Narnia... Batman... Robin Hood.....

The list is quite long and is probably a demonstration of the limits upon 'originality' of the human mind as even Biblical stories are often based on similar concepts or templates of cultural or religious tales e.g Isis and Horus (Mary and Jesus)
In the next movie, Superman goes back in time and beats the crap out of Jesus, so there.

i hadn't noticed it, but now you mention it...However, loads of films have a 'jesus' type storyline, Neo in the Matrix, for example.
