2002 Chevy Blazer transmission problems???

Just bought a used 02 Blazer LT 4.3 automatic less than a week ago. The trans. is slipping and serv. eng. light is on. Called the dealer i bought it from and they said to check trans. fluid since the trans. was taken off to perform other repairs (replaced ball joints, something with the intake manifold, and all gaskets). Fluid barely registered on stick, so i added 1 qt, now showing above full on stick. Its still slipping and now it's making a jerking motion while driving that feels like you hit a pothole! If anyone has any ideas, please help!!!!

I have a few ideas for you and a few suggestions as well. Your blazer has a 4L60-E transmission. The good news here is that your service engine light is on. This means that there are codes stored in memory that can be retrieved. This will give you or your mechanic a good idea of what's ailing your vehicle. from what you described it sounds like they removed the transmission to replace a rear main seal. there's a possibility that the trans was not filled completly back up which could have caused it to burn the clutches and cause the slipping feel. with out actually driving it, im somewhat hesitant to give you things to look for and too check. since you just did buy this vehicle however, I would take it back to the dealership and have them fix it, or there's the option of telling them that you will not take a lemon.

Its not cov. under warr. %26amp; will cost 400! Had to pay them 85 to tell me that! Bringing it back where I got it from. Any one know if they have to take it back or am I stuck with it? Report It

Trans rebuild time!
If it has a warranty, take it back and make them change your trans. The transmission is on its way to hell in a hand basket. To replace the stuff they said they replaced, the transmission doesn't need to be removed. Don't drive it over the mileage of your warranty, if you have already, you are screwed unless you can take the dealer to court.
dont do anything else to the vehicle at all. just bring it back.

DO NOT TELL THEM THAT YOU ADDED THE FLUID!!!!!

because if they know that YOU overfilled it they will call that abuse and not be obligated to fix it. just say it was overfull when you originally checked it.
If you bought it from the dealership, make them fix it or take it back and get another car, suv. Believe me I know. I work at a dealership. I had one person bring back the explorer, because of things going wrong with it.
I had a GM car that was something similar to yours. The electric torque converter was locking up and causing it to jerk. It's should lock at about 40 mph, it's supposed to save fuel at highway speeds. Since I never drove it on the Interstate or long drives, I just unplugged the electrical connector for the lock up and it worked find for many years. The plug is white with four connectors and located next to the torque converter( closer to the engine)
listen to olds power he is right
take it to auto zone to retrieve the codes for free.

bring them to Yahoo answers.

I will tell You what is it. at least the pricing.

if still moves then is alive.

may be only the mounts.or a loose drive shaft's yoke bolts.
